Vertigo Comics announces the release of an anthology that celebrates the medium’s past titled Vertigo Quarterly: CMYK.
I’m sure that those who have had a printer and needed to change their ink cartridge remember these colors: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Now, Vertigo has announced a new title that’s coming in April, an anthology titled Vertigo Quarterly: CMYK inspired by the printing process that has helped the comics medium exist and evolve from it’s black and white beginnings.
According to Nerdist, the four-issue anthology series will feature work from some of the industry’s most prolific creators, including Jock, Fabio Moon, James Tynion IV, Martin Morazzo, Robert Rodi and Javier Fernandez, Amy Chu, Joe Keatinge, Cris Peter, Shaun Simon and Tony Akins and more.
Below is the official press release from Vertigo:
“The four colors that are the basis of comics coloring serve as the jumping-off point for creators to push the boundaries of short graphic fiction in the new VERTIGO QUARTERLY: CMYK series. Starting with CYAN in spring, VERTIGO QUARTERLY: CMYK will continue through 2014 with MAGENTA in summer, YELLOW in fall and finally BLACK in winter. VERTIGO QUARTERLY: CMYK #1 hits shelves April 30th, 2014.”
